After the fourth round, he lost to world No. 1 Rafael Nadal. In 2021, he qualified for the 2021 French Open but lost against Filip Kranjinovic in the first round.
After being ranked 215, he was ranked world No. 209 and qualified at the 2021 US Open for the main draw. He won the 2022 Wimbledon Championships at the All England Club, going against Aljaž Bedene.
After qualifying for over three years of absence at a masters level and at this tournament, he lost to Alejandro Tabilo at the 2023 BNP Paribas Open.
