The Utah native Kasha Rigby dies soon after an avalanche hits her. Her body was found at the Ski Center in Brezovica, Kosovo.
American Skier Kasha Rigby Dies In An Avalanche
Rigby, who was engaged to Magnus Wolfe Murray, was skiing at the Brezovica Ski Resort in Kosovo.
On February 13, 2024, around 2:30 p.m., an avalanche hit and brushed away Rigby off the trail. The severe force of the snow tossed her into the trees.
The avalanche was said to be about 82 feet wide and 32 feet high.
Magnus found her fiancee’s body 20 seconds after the avalanche hit her. Immediately, he tried CPR to rescue her. However, she died within a few seconds after suffering internal bleeding in her chest as well as lung injury.

Kasha Rigby’s Fiance Was Startled
Rigby’s fiance, Magnus, posted a message on Facebook where he mentioned that Rigby died on February 13, 2024.
Murray said that they were going to get married in September, and now he’s widowed.
A few days before the death of his fiance, Kasha shared a photo on Instagram from her trip and also reported that there were dangerous conditions at the ski resort.
As Kasha Rigby dies in Avalanche, Murray is undoubtedly devastated, and we hope he will recover from this incident as soon as possible.
The Best Female Telemark Skier
Catherine “Kasha” Rigby was an American competitive skier born in 1970 in Stowe, Vermont, U.S. She began her telemark skiing career as a teenager.
Kasha left college to explore Africa at 19, and she led the way toward Crested Butte, Colorado. She spent her adult years nurturing her passion for skiing and traveling.
Although Kasha Rigby dies in an unfortunate accident, her legacy remains. She was named the “Best Female Telemark Skier” by Outside magazine when she appeared on Women Outside’s cover in 1998.
