Many people thought Aidan Morris could become the league’s next great thing when he started the MLS Cup final in 2020 as the youngest player ever to do so. He is a midfielder for the Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer. Aidan Morris’ soccer career has been amazing, and he is regarded as an example by other youngsters in American soccer.

Worked Hard Since Early Age

Aidan Morris was born on November 16, 2001, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, U.S. He was raised by his parents, Angela Morris and Wallace Morris. His host parents, Casey and Rebecca, supported him during his early soccer career. The American athlete began playing soccer young and became a big fan of English powerhouse Manchester United.

After being enlisted, Morris played at the Columbus Crew SC Academy from 2017 to 2019. In addition, he played collegiate soccer while attending Indiana University from 2017 to 2019. Aidan earned the 2019 TopDrawerSoccer.com National Freshman of the Year Award, a national prize awarded to the best freshman college soccer player in the U. S. He was also listed in the Big Ten Freshman of the Year award.

Aidan Morris’ Soccer Career

The Columbus Crew signed Morris as a homegrown player on January 14, 2020. He earned his professional debut in a game on July 11, 2020, as part of The MLS is Back Tournament. In October 2020, the young athlete started his first professional match for Crew. He appeared in 11 matches for his club during the 2020 MLS season.

Morris was in a starting lineup for the first game of the CONCACAF Champions League for the 2021 season. However, an ACL injury forced him to miss the second leg and cost him the rest of the second season. Nevertheless, after getting well in 2021, he played a significant role for a Columbus side that missed qualifying for the MLS Cup playoffs. Aidan Morris’ soccer career is getting bigger, and he is about to take his next move as he enters his fourth professional season.

Made It To The National Team

Gyasi Zardes was the last consistent call-up for a Columbus Crew player to the American Men’s National Team. However, another member of the Black & Gold is getting the opportunity to demonstrate why he should be a consistent starter for the national team. Aidan Morris was named to the 24-man squad when the U. S. Men’s National Team unveiled its lineup for the squad’s January camp in 2023.

Morris will participate in the camp alongside other MLS stars, which will take place in Carson, California, and comprise friendlies against Serbia and Colombia. He was also picked for the American under-20 national soccer squad in January 2020. The United States national team will greatly benefit from Aidan Morris’ soccer skills.

The 21-year-old commits much of his time away from the game to self-improvement. He prefers to read books about self-growth and progress when he is not working in the field. Morris regards colleagues Darlington Nagbe and Josh Williams, both in their early 30s, as his best pals. After Nagbe tested positive for COVID-19, Morris took his spot in the starting lineup for the 2020 MLS Cup.
