Ahmet Zappa and Selma Blair were one of the renowned Hollywood couples in the early 2000s.
Ahmet is a musician and actor, born to musician Frank Zappa and businesswoman Gail Zappa. On the other hand, Selma is an American actress who came into the limelight for her role as Zoe Bean in Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane.
After over two years of marriage, the former couple called it quits. So, let’s dig in to know what went wrong between them.
Got Married In A Low-key Ceremony
Ahmet Zappa and Selma Blair always kept their relationship under wraps. After her previous relationship ended, she was not ready to get into another one. Then, one day, a friend asked her to go out and date as she had been spending much time alone at home.
Selma met Ahmet a couple of months later. In addition, he was late, and she was cursing him out. Eight days later, she jokingly asked him to marry her at her best friend’s house and later admitted she was joking. Later that night, he asked her out in the car when they were going home.
Selma, who got engaged to Ahmet in October 2003, once admitted that she was unsure if he was serious when he asked her out. So, she requested a token, and he gave her a highlighter. He wrote sweet things all over her arm. Furthermore, she later discovered that Ahmet Zappa’s dad had made a similar proposal to his mom’s.
Then, on January 24, 2004, six months after dating, Selma and Ahmet decided on forever in a low-key ceremony. They hosted their wedding ceremony in Carrie Fisher’s home in Coldwater Canyon, Calif. The former couple was supposed to get married at Ritz-Carlton in Marina Del Rey, California. However, they changed the locations at the last minute.
The actress wore a simple gown without a veil and participated in a traditional Jewish ceremony. They got married surrounded by approximately 70 guests.
Selma’s family members were present as well as Zappa’s brother Dweezil Zappa and sister Moon Unit Zappa. It was a lovely ceremony, as reported by one of the friends who attended the nuptials.

Ahmet Zappa And Selma Blair Ended Their Marriage
It is usual for people to hear of celebrity divorces. Just like that, Selma and Ahmet are both divorcees.
Nobody believed the pair would ever separate as they had an excellent relationship. But after 29 months of marriage, Selma filed a divorce against Ahmet in June 2006, where the mentioned reason was irreconcilable differences. She filed her petition in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
As per Troy Nankin, spokesperson for the couple, although they decided to divorce, their love for each other and friendship continued. Their divorce was finalized in December 2006.
The estranged pair have a confidential settlement agreement, but it has been reported that they waived spousal support.
Have Moved On In Their Respective Lives
Ahmet and Selma are established names in the industry. Their marriage and divorce made headlines, and fans never anticipated them to break apart. But we never know what’s next in our lives.
Following the divorce, the former couple moved on in their lives. Ahmet Zappa’s ex-wife then dated Johnny Messner, Mikey Day, Josh Groban, Jason Bleick, David Foster, Ronnie Carlson, and David Price. From January 2020 to February 2022, she dated Ronald Carlson. Following the separation, it is not known who she is dating currently.
Likewise, Selma Blair’s ex-husband got married to Shana Muldoon in 2010. The couple has been together ever since and is the proud parents of Halo Violetta Zappa and Arrow D’Oro Leon Zappa. Similarly, Selma is also a proud mother of Arthur Saint Bleck, whom she welcomed on July 25, 2011, with Jason Bleick.
