Hadassah Freilich was born on March 28, 1948, in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Her name means “myrtle tree” which is associated with peace, love, and prosperity. Also, Hadassah is known as Queen Esther of Persia in the Hebrew Bible.
Born to holocaust survivors parents, Hadassah’s early life was filled with struggles. Her mother Ella Wieder Freillich was a survivor of two concentration camps. Auschwitz and Dachau.

Likewise, Freilich earned an MA in International relations from Northeastern University in 1971. After finishing her education, she worked in health, non-profit organizations, and numerous councils.
