Closing Arguments Of The Case

The Deputy District Attorney highlighted the severity of the breach in safety standards and measures in the set, stating there were many chances to stop the incident from happening.

Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer stated in this matter, “The reason why I’m going to remand you is you are now convicted, and this is a death,”

Sommer added, “It’s criminal negligence, but it’s still a death.” After that, Assistant Director David Halls was sentenced to 6 months in prison and a $500 fine with 24 hours of community service.

At the closing of the case, the Jury decided Reed would be guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

Reed will not face 18 months of prison with a $ 5,000 USD fine. However, the exact date for her sentencing has not been scheduled.
