Desormeaux gained national attention in 2013 after winning the Rien Star Stakes with the horse I’ve Struck a Nerve, owned by Matt Bryan, owner of Big Chief Racing Stables. Also considered the biggest upset in the history of the race, the victory was also his first graded stakes win.
